I completed my Ph.D. in Physics with a specialization in Astrophysics (cosmology) at the Harish-Chandra Research Institute in Allahabad (Prayagraj) in 2009. I worked at the National Center for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA-TIFR) in Pune from 2008 to 2010 and at the Inter-University Center for Astronomy & Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune from 2010 to 2018 in various roles. I was a member of the LIGO Scientific Collaboration from 2012 to 2018, and during this period, significant discoveries were made by LIGO, resulting in multiple awards, including the Nobel Prize in Physics (I also received numerous awards and recognition within our group). Since 2018, I have been employed in the industry as a data scientist, initially with Embold Technologies from 2018 to 2020 and, since 2020, with Digital Intelligence Systems in Chennai.
I have been tackling data and compute-intensive problems for over two decades now. My Ph.D. work was centered on large cosmological N-Body simulations that required High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, some of which I assembled at home and actively participated in the process.
During my time with the LIGO project, I played a pivotal role in setting up a substantial (200 TF) computing system and managed its operations, in addition to contributing to various research projects. I have authored over 100 scientific publications in prestigious journals, with a total of more than 60,000 citations.
My interests have spanned a wide range of topics, and presently, my focus is on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with a special emphasis on Large Language Models.
